Hulu presents an array of fantastic anime available on its platform. It’s among only a handful of streaming providers to offer Dubbed Gundam shows, and there are many other fantastic choices in addition. Hulu can be a bit humorous for anime. Some shows aren’t complete as Netflix. But, Hulu does have a bad habit of having certain shows that are dubbed (English voices) for a portion of the time and subtitled (Japanese voices and English subtitles) part of the time. There are a lot of fun and zany moments and despite the amazing battle scenes with animated tanks throughout the show, It does not take itself too seriously. Overall, it’s a great show.

K-On!! is a slice-of-life-style show about four (eventually five) girls who are part of the school’s music club. They perform music and eat cakes, as well as establish their friendships. Toradora! is a romantic drama that follows two lovers who have a love for different people. They attempt to hook one another up with their love interests and usually fail. But, they begin to form bonds due to the fact that they spend so much time together. There are a few slice-of-life aspects too but romance is the most significant feature here. The show is well-paced with some great comedy and dialogue. Hulu only offers the version with subtitles, which is unfortunate because there is a dubbed version available.

Food Wars is a comedy-drama about a teen who enjoys cooking. He is always searching for the most delicious flavor combinations and enrolls at a culinary school to improve his abilities. The story follows his experiences at the school and the drama that goes along with it. There are some hilarious scenes within the show and its lighthearted style makes it a pleasant watch.

One Punch Man (comedy)

One Punch Man is an action comedy about a man with a beard who takes out everyone in one punch. Despite the constant chaos around Saitama, he does not like anything to do with it. The comedy gold is the contrast of creating an epic fight scene and then having Saitama destroy the villain with one strike. Hulu offers season 1 and season 2. Something Netflix is not yet able to offer.

Your Lie in April is a beautifully romantic story about a young boy that plays piano. He loses the motivation to play when his mother dies but finds it when he meets Kaori who is a violinist. Kaori is a wild character and is determined to do nothing else than play the violin alongside our protagonist. The show is 22 episodes and uses nearly every episode to present the story. We won’t give away the end however it’s great to watch for drama and
Love-struck romance lovers.

Danganronpa (mystery and thriller)

Danganronpa is a thriller mystery with a few light horror elements. A group of schoolchildren gets trapped inside a show in which they have to commit the perfect murder in order to escape. They are being watched by Monobear who is the host of the show and principal antagonist. The show has a few punches and offers a fun journey until the final. The show is based on an online game, and there are many other shows that are part of the series.

Blood-C (horror and gore)

Blood-C is an action thriller that incorporates elements of horror. Saya as well as her dad fight an isolated, small town from the ravages of beasts that could take everyday objects that are inanimate and then use them to kill people. Anyone who loves the thrill of death, action, and destruction will definitely enjoy this movie as long as they are able to stomach the idea. We wouldn’t recommend this film to children or anyone who is frightened by seeing blood.
