The ‘demon gun glitch,’ in which weapons, players, and objects throughout the map are covered in a warped mess of broken textures, has affected both Call of Duty: Warzone and Vanguard. This can completely obscure parts of the map, making them unreadable.
The problem in Vanguard was caused by the latest NVIDIA graphics drivers, and the PC version’s developers, Beenox, have now revealed how to permanently fix the demon gun glitch.

The NVIDIA Driver 511.23 was originally to blame for the demon gun glitch, and Vanguard’s developers advised players to roll back their drivers to at least 472.84. However, the problem has been resolved, and you can now download a new hotfix to ensure that you have the most recent drivers without any visual issues.
Here’s how to fix the game-breaking demon gun glitch in Vanguard:
- NVIDIA.com provides access to Download GeForce experience.
- GeForce Experience is now available.
- Navigate to the ‘Drivers’ tab.
- In the upper right corner, click ‘check for updates.’
- Follow the steps if an update is available.
- Launch Call of Duty: Vanguard after installing the 511.72 hotfix
Multiplayer and Zombies should no longer be plagued by the ominous textures that cover the map, allowing you to resume normal Vanguard gameplay.
This comes at an ideal time for Vanguard, as February is shaping up to be a big month for the company. The Season 2 update will be released on February 14, and it will include new weapons, maps, and Zombies content, as well as the Ground War mode, which has already been leaked.
In addition, Ranked Play is set to launch in February, possibly alongside the Season 2 update, but we’ll have to wait for more information from Sledgehammer and Treyarch.
